Next Media in Partnership with Sheer Solutions launch  “The Comic”

Next Media Services is pleased to announce an important partnership of co-operation between NBS TV and Sheer Solutions.

The partnership is aimed at boosting the stand of comedy on the Ugandan market. This is going to benefit young upcoming comedians.

‘The Comic’ is a fresh market product that will identify new talent in Uganda from the various categories of comedy through an audition, this shall later translate into a competitive process that will result into a fully-fledged comedy TV show that will air on NBS TV after the winners are announced.

Unlike the music industry that has multiple platforms to uplift talent, comedy lacks these kinds of platforms to pave way for fresh young talent. NBS TV and Sheer Solutions have come together to provide an opportunity for upcoming comedians to showcase their talent hence the idea of a talent show that is built from scratch.

With this partnership, we believe we shall rejuvenate the Ugandan comedy industry which has slowed down due to the absence of a platform to give to young, fresh and upcoming comedians.

To register as a contestant, one is required to text the KEY word “COMIC” to 8888, they will receive a confirmation message with a 6-digit code that will act as their audition number which they will present on the day of the auditions.

The auditions will take place at the Kwese TV auditorium in Naguru starting 8:00 am till late. They are slated to take place on the 18th and 19th of April 2018.

The auditions will be overseen by celebrated seasoned Ugandan comedians and industry experts.
