Judge withdraws from treason case, says there is a lot of confusion

Justice Wilson Musene Masalu has withdrawn from the treason case against the 19 muslims and forwarded the file to the Principal Judge to determine away forward.

The 19 are accused of being members of the Allied Defence Forces and have been detained for more than two years.

The judge said he is tired of the confusion between Director of Public Prosecution and defence lawyers.

This was after prosecution led by Thomas Jatiko told court that his boss has decided to discontinue proceeding against the group a move that was opposed by defence lawyers led by Dalton Opwonya who insisted that they must proceed with the hearing of the case.

Opwonya said told the judge that they are ready continue with the case against their client up to the end adding that once charges are withdrawn from their suspects chances are high that they will re arrested and charged afresh
