ISO operative, 4 others charged with murder of Finnish national

Five people including an operative with the Internal Security Organisation(ISO) have been charged with causing the death of Thomas Juha Petteri Terasvouri ,a Finnish national.

Terasvouri who had just come to Uganda from Finland was found dead under unclear circumstance in his room at the Pearl of Africa hotel in Nakasero.

On Friday, Buganda Road Chief Magistrates court charged Apollo Kyabagye,a senior intelligence officer with  ISO  together with Faridah Naggayi (girl friend to deceased), Fatumah Kabagambe (sold drugs), Nasif Walusimbi (special hire driver) and Caroline Alinda with manslaughter for  causing the death of Terasvouri.

They were also charged with forgery of a letter from the ISO Director General,Col.Kaka Bagyenda and trafficking narcotic drugs  and psychotropic substances  including cocaine that they administered to Terasvouri leading to his death.

Prosecution alleges that the accused unlawfully  caused the death of the Finnish international on February 6 .

They denied the charges before being remanded to Luzira up to April 4.

Police last month said the Finnish international had died of drugs but the Internal Security Organisation dismissed the police report as being concocted to suit a certain objective.
