Bryan White faces court over empty promises, kidnap

Self proclaimed cash machine, Brian Kirumira alias Bryan White has been given a seven days’ ultimatum to pay Shs10m to a local artiste Simon Mukasa alias Lucky Costa or face the music in court.

Through his lawyers Muwada and Company Advocates, Mukasa alleges that Bryan White agreed to purchase copyright of his song titled ‘hero-basima ogenze” at Shs10m and also promised to buy him land and building him a house.

However, the cash machine Bryan white is failed to deliver on any of the above. Worse still, he dragged Mukasa with him to perform at the different events in Mbarara under the flagship of Bryan White foundation, but neither paid for his performances nor paid for his accommodation.

Mukasa’s lawyers accuse Bryan White of engaging their client in Mbarara for two days while exploiting his talent yet fail to meet his end of the bargain which was to give him residence at the hotel, pay for his performance and meals as agreed.

“Our client has made efforts to secure payments for his song, his performances and refund of his costs incurred but in vein,” a demand notice to Bryan White reads in part.

“In an unfortunate reversal of events, you Bryan White and your agents have turned to character assassinate our client, branding him as a thief and using police agents to illegally kidnap and detain our client. A case in point is on Saturday march 17, where after a trap by your agents one Sekamate and Musa, our client was kidnapped by plain clothed army persons who later dropped him at Katwe Police station and hardly 10 minutes later you Bryan White appeared at the police station with multiple threats,” the notice continues.

Mukasa alleges that while White was at the Police station he paraded him before media and labeled him a renown thief. White also at the same event pulled out bundles amounting to Shs10m and said he had come to pay Mukasa but never gave him a single coin.

Mukasa now wants White to pay Shs 10m as agreed, and Shs4m for expenses in Mbarara, and another Shs200m in damages as a result of slander by White.

He also vows to drag White to court for alleged kidnap and illegal detention.
