UCU to offer degree in Medicine

The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has accredited Uganda Christian University (UCU) to run two new medical programmes.

The two programmes are: Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and Bachelor of Dental Surgery that will see the university training medical doctors and dentists.

The accreditation of the programs comes after a communication in a letter dated February 26, 2018 from Prof. Opuda Asibo, the executive director to UCU.

Other newly accredited courses that shall be offered to UCU are:Bachelor of Development Economics, Bachelor of Project Planning, Bachelor of Public Health and Diploma in Procurement and Logistics Management.

The UCU School of Medicine will be run in conjunction with Mengo Hospital both of which were founded by Church of Uganda.

However, as per now the admission of students to the new courses shall be determined by the university.
