Nsimbe starts Express journey on a high with massive win against Soana

New Express technical director George ’Best’ Nismbe started his spell on a high note with a four nil win against Soana SC in the Azam Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.

Two goals in either half of the game ensured the new tactician’s first step of saving the sinking Red Eagles boat were in the right direction at Wankulukuku.

The home side opened the score only 14 minutes after kickoff through Jalili Zimula before Michael Birungi doubled the lead six minutes later for the first half to end two nil in favour of Express.

In the second half, Birungi was at it again before on form Ayubu Kisaliita sealed off the win to ensure Express started their bid to fight off relegation on a high.

The win brought smiles on the faces of the Wankulukuku based side fans but it will remain to be seen if such moments will continue to be witnessed by the side that has spent most of its days in the drop zone.

At Kakindu stadium in Jinja, hosts BUL FC beat Police FC in a game that saw a rain of goals in the Azam Uganda Premier League on Tuesday evening.

Despite coming from behind twice, Police were unlucky to fall on the hosts’ sword following Richard Wandyaka.Timothy Owori and Faisal Muledho goals which saw BUL win 3-2 at home.

Albert Mugisha and Ben Ocen scored for Police.

The games on Tuesday saw Express displace Entebbe based Masavu in 14th place, both on 19 points but the former on a better goal difference whereas Soana are 11th on 24 points.

Record champions SC Villa are at the top of the Azam Uganda Premier League log on 40 points from twenty games.
