The Executive Director of Uganda Media Centre and government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo, has lashed out at Dr. Kizza Besigye for seeking to resurrect his ‘fallen’ political career on the backdrop of General Kale Kayihura’s recent dismissal.

Dr. Kizza Besigye at the briefing stated that Kayihura was simply a pawn thwarting any forces of opposition wedged against President Museveni’s tenure of power.
“Kayihura became a source of patronage; he became a political broker, paying people to support Mr. Museveni,” Kizza Besigye said.
Mr. Ofwono Opondo immediately launched a series of responses on twitter, a new media platform.
Stating,
Mr @kizzabesigye1 had politically died after the defeat of #Togikwattako and #Tubalemese, but is now trying to resurrect with the dropping of Kayihura as @IGPUGANDA @UgandaMediaCent @nbstv @ntvuganda @ubctvuganda

Ofwono added;
Ugandans very well appreciate @kizzabesigye1 anger against @IGPUGANDA for thwarting his mischief against @KagutaMuseveni and Uganda since 2001 @UgandaMediaCent @nbstv @ntvuganda @ubctvuganda

@kizzabesigye1 Stop political dancing on the grave of the unfortunate women recently killed in cold blood by heartless and primitive criminals. No same Ugandan will take you seriously @UgandaMediaCent @nbstv @ntvuganda @ubctvuganda

He concluded:
@kizzabesigye1 rather than simply seek to score cheap political points, he should propose viable alternative security policy direction @UgandaMediaCent @nbstv @ntvuganda @ubctvuganda
