Lumumba camps in Jinja East with loads of cash

The NRM Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba on Friday afternoon joined the campaign fray in Jinja East where the party's candidate Igeme Nabeta faces stiff competition from FDC's Paul Mwiru.

The by-election shall be held on March 15.

On arrival in Jinja, Lumumba held an administrative meeting with the constituency task force and parish coordinators at Hotel Triangle before proceeding to the field.

Lumumba was accompanied by Dr Hassan Galiwango, the director of Finance and Administration who assured that the cash for the campaigns was there.

She directed that the coordination campaign offices be moved from the candidate's hotel facility to the NRM offices.

Galiwango immediately took action to have the party offices as the new command post for the campaigns.

Lumumba further called for continued team work and avoid leaking out strategic information to the opposition camps.

She was however shocked to learn that some NRM Party members were being tortured by FDC supporters as police turns a deaf ear. She instructed the leadership to compile the list of affected persons for action.

In the same meeting, the district NRM Secretary Kato Kaziba outlined a number of programs being implemented to earn the party a deserving victory on March 15.
