Makerere mosque offices broken into, computers taken

The office of the Makerere University  mosque Imam Sam Ahmed Ssentongo was broken into early this morning by thugs who stole four computers.

Ssentongo told The Nile Post that he realised this at around 6:00am in the morning  when he had come to switch off the security lights of the mosque only to discover that his office had been broken into.

Police confirmed the incident and the OC station Makerere University, Jude Masingano said their police officers at the main gate noticed strange people near the Makerere University mosque and later pursued them. Three computers were recovered.

"Our officers who were deployed at the  main gate realised that there were some people who were slumbering inside the mosque offices and decided to go there," Masingano said.

The chairman Makerere Muslim Students Association (MUASA) Umar Senyonjo said: "I found news here that our offices had been broken into and police is investigating what has  happened. Probably the  people who broke into our offices seemed to be interested in the computers meaning that they are interested in some information but what information?"
