Vipers Sc survive early cup scare

In a match billed as the classic date in the round of 32, visitors Police stunned the hosts with Norman Ojik netting in the opening minute to silence the majority crowd at St Mary’s Stadium.

The deficit was short-lived though as four minutes later, Milton Karisa restored parity. The on form forward met an inch perfect Yayo Lutimba cross to square the match.

The quick-fire start from both sides set the tone of the match on a high temple, as either sides made robust visits into the opposition half. Vipers had their engines running faster, Erisa Ssekisambu doubled the score on 24 mins, to send the hosts ahead at the break

The 2nd period opened in the manner the 1st had ended, defined by high intensity. It was however, Dan Serunkuma who took the shine of the half netting on 54 minutes, to blow any hopes of Police Fc’s recovery. The former Express striker responded well to an assist from Erisa Sekisambu to send the venoms through.
