A councillor on Wednesday raised a complaint over the positioning of the image of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi on Kampala Capital City of Authority (KCCA) 2018 calendar.
Moses Katabu, who represents Kampala Central in the City Authority, raised the matter during a council meeting yesterday when calendars where distributed to councillors.
Katabu was also displeased by the failure to feature image of the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago on the front page of the calendar. The first page features six photos including those KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi, council members in a meeting, Rubaga Mayor Joyce Ssebugwawo, the Kabaka flanked by Kampala Minister Beti Kamya attending one of KCCA’s events, a photo of Kampala road infrastructure progress and a photo of kids playing.
However, what incensed Katabu is the positioning of the photo featuring Kabaka on the lower side while Musisi’s is on top. The councilor argued that “it looks as if ED Jennifer Musisi is sitting on the Kabaka.”
He asked KCCA to withdraw the calendar or at least change positioning of the photos. He said putting the Kabaka below Musisi offends Buganda.
The deputy KCCA Executive Director Sam Sserunkuma said they gave out the contract to designers to do the work who came up with the calendar.
Sserunkuma said as KCCA they did not know that the positioning of the photos would affect the feelings of some people.
Lukwago said there is a problem at KCCA because all things are done to please Musisi. This is a complaint that Lukwago has made several times arguing that “KCCA is Musisi and Musisi is KCCA.”
