I don't kneel to greet men or women- Byanyima
The Executive Director of Oxfam International, Ms Winnie Byanyima has been trending all weekend, thanks to a tweet in which she claimed the culture of kneeling and curtsying to show respect is humiliating and should be ceased.
Following the tweet, an angry army of Ugandans on social media launched an attack on her, calling upon her to desist from infiltrating the African- Ugandan culture. It was not long before a few started circulating pictures of women kneeling before her husband, FDC strong man Dr Kizza Besigye and then finally a picture of her kneeling, albeit in church.
Winnie however responded to the pictures (specifically hers) by reiterated that she can not kneel before man or woman.
