Orthodox leader: We have a selfish government, Ugandans must wake up

Featured

In the wake of the signing of the age-limit bill into law, the Archbishop of the Orthodox Church in Uganda Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga has called upon Ugandans to rise up and defend their destiny.

The Orthodox leader said those that still hope for dialogue should look for other options because they have tried to engage the ruling party but in vain.

Asked about the long awaited dialogue between the opposition and the ruling party including the religious leaders, the man of God said this is something that may never happen.

"We were the first to front that and up to now, nothing has happened," Lwanga said.

The seemingly disgusted religious leader described the NRM government as selfish only thinking about itself.

" I told Besigye that he would win this election but they will not let him be president," he said.

"We are in a crisis and we need to solve the problem. It is time to act as Ugandans," he said.
