Dr Obuku attacked by thugs, sustains skull injuries

The President of Uganda Medical Association (UMA) Dr.Ekwaro Obuku has sustained skull injuries after thugs attacked him last night at his in Kitifumba, Kira.

Dr. Obuku who has been in national headlines for weeks for leading the doctor’s strike this year, is now admitted at Case Clinic along Buganda Road.

The doctors were protesting poor pay and working conditions.

Police is yet to comment on the matter.

Speaking to The Nile Post, Dr. Fauz Kavuma the UMA spokesperson, said Dr. Obuku has lost a lot of blood through the nasal and buccal cavities.

Dr. Kavuma added that Obuku has also sustained skull injuries mostly around the nasal cavity, and that a neurosurgeon was yet to evaluate him to provide a full detailed report.
