Age Limit report to be tabled Monday at 9am

The much anticipated legal and parliamentary affairs committee report on the Age Limit Bill will be tabled in parliament on Monday next week, the speaker Rebecca Kadaga has said.

The country has been anxiously waiting for the report to be tabled, but for the previous three consecutive plenaries, the item has been missing on the order paper.

However, on Thursday, Kadaga informed parliament that the age limit Bill will come up in parliament on Monday at 9am, also directing the Clerk to upload the legal committee reports; both by West Budama MP and chairman legal committee Oboth Oboth and the minority report by Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo and colleagues.

"I received the report of the Legal Committee on the Constitutional Amendment Bill; I also received the minority report. So am putting you on notice that we shall meet on Monday, 18th Dec 2017 at 9am to conduct that business,” Kadaga said.

She however added that the sitting on Monday to consider the Constitutional(Amendment)(No.2) Bill, 2017 is not a special sitting like is being imputed by some persons. It is a normal sitting of the House.
