Man killed, body wrapped in box

Police have kicked off investigations into an incident in which an unidentified man was killed and his body dumped into a trench in Kampala.

The body was found by KCCA cleaners near Total headquarters on eighth street industrial area on Thursday morning s went on with their daily routines.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Area Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident, adding that the deceased only identified as Zziwa had been cut before being put into a box.

“He was found in a culvert opposite Total headquarters when KCCA cleaners found a suspicious box with blood coming out and on opening it was found to be a body of a person packed inside with all the limbs shattered,”Owoyesigyire said.

The police mouthpiece said that they suspect that the deceased had been killed from another place before the body was dumped to Industrial area adding that they are trying to look through nearby security cameras as part of the investigations on the person behind the murder.

The body, that was found close to 100 metres from a nearby police post, has been taken to Mulago for postmortem.
