Participate in LC elections, Muntu tells FDC supporters

The FDC presidential aspirant, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu has encouraged party supporters to participate in the forthcoming LC elections by offering themselves for positions of leadership.

Speaking to party delegates in Mpigi town on Thursday, Muntu said the elections provide the party a window of opportunity to get into leadership at the lower level.

"We must take the chance of this window opportunity when the rivals are still in unrest," he noted.

Comparing FDC and NRM, Muntu said FDC has systems and structures unlike the NRM

"Our uniqueness in political leadership is just democracy," Muntu said.

This is one of the leadership system he initiated to emphasise what democracy is in the party when he unfortunately decided to challenge Dr. Kizza Besigye twice in 2009 and 2010.

"Our (FDC's) constitution is static and true where the party president is only obliged to lead the party for only two terms," he said.

One term of leadership in FDC lasts for five years.
