Kenyan Jubilee Presidential flag bearer and temporary incumbent, Uhuru Kenyatta has lashed out at his contender, NASA’s Raila Amolo Odinga over his withdrawal from the election repeat.
Mr Odinga on Tuesday announced he has withdrawn from the October 26 election citing anticipated repeat of irregularities and unfairness by the IEBC.
“Proceeding with the elections on Oct 26 without these changes being made on grounds of time constraints in unacceptable. Jubilee and other proponents of an election without reforms are saying any election will do, but we NASA are calling for a credible election,” Odinga said.
However, Uhuru Kenyatta accuses Odinga of playing empty rhetoric and divisive politics.
“We don’t have time for empty rhetoric and divisive politics. Our agenda is to fulfil our promises to the Kenyan people. What is the justice in the act of withdrawing from an election after causing Kenyans to use Kenya shillings 12 billion? Democracy is for all and no single individual can stand in the way of the democratic right of the people,” Kenyatta said.
