“You were a non-performer more qualified for the seminary than the army” Gen Muhoozi stings Muntu
The Commander of the Land Forces in the UPDF, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has thrown yet another salvo at former army commander and Alliance for National Transformation leader, Maj Gen(Rtd) Mugisha Muntu.
Following an earlier square off stemming from Muntu’s asking of Muhoozi to first get out of the army uniform before joining politics, the same seems to have rubbed the latter the wrong way.

In a series of tweets Lt Gen Muhoozi has described as a mistake by President Museveni who is also the commander in chief to appoint Muntu as the army commander in 1989.
He said that Col Jet Mwebaze was more suited for the position since he was “a great commander for sure.”
Muntu was army commander, the highest position in the Ugandan army for nine years between 1989 and 1998.
However, Lt Gen Muhoozi thinks Muntu was not deserving of this position but rather best suited for the seminary.
“The mistakes we regret. Late Afande Jet should have been army commander! Our great army would have been much greater. We spent almost nine years under so called 'Sober' non-performers! They were better qualified for seminaries and church choirs than the army,” Lt Gen Muhoozi tweeted.
Muhoozi had earlier said that “some opposition politicians and even perennial presidential candidates” have been reduced to commenting on his tweets.
He described commenting on his tweets as their new jobs.
A number of people, especially in the opposition have on several occasions had their tongues wagging in regards to the tweets by Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, with many saying he has openly declared his 2026 presidential ambition.
