Oshaba completes move to Police FC

Police FC has completed the signing of striker Marvin Oshaba from Tooro United on a free transfer.

Oshaba signed a one-year contract with the Cops, with the option for a further year, and becomes Abdallah Mubiru’s second striker signing of the January transfer window.

The striker joins fellow new arrival Frank Kalanda who also earlier joined on a free-transfer after months without a club after running down his contract with Express FC.

Oshaba has also been without a club after mutually terminating his contract with Tooro United last November, with the player saying he wants to take on a bigger challenge.

Police coach Mubiru believes the player can be a valuable addition to the club: “He is a good addition for us and comes at a crucial time. I am pleased that we have been able to bring him here.”

“He adds another attacking source for us and has a character that I really like. He will be a great fit for us,” he added.

Oshaba joined Tooro United from Ibanda Municipal Council, helping them gain promotion to the top division in his first season at the club, finishing as the FUFA Big League top scorer in the 2020/21 season.

In the current season, he has scored four goals so far, one of those coming in Tooro’s only victory of the season.

It will be interesting to see how Mubiru can shape a frontline that includes Oshaba, Juma Balinya and Kalanda as Police who are ninth on the table continue to fight against relegation.
