MUBS announces dates for End of Semester exams

Education

Makerere University Business School (MUBs) has announced that their end-of-semester one the academic year 2020/21 examinations will be held between Monday, September 27 to Friday, October 08, 2021.

In a letter dated September 13, 2021, MUBs deputy principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi said that the exams will be in form of alternative online assessments since students were not able to complete their curriculum.

“As you are aware, examinations for end of semester one the academic year 2020/21 were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Makerere University Senate meeting held on August 9, 2021, and MUBS Management have since approved alternative online assessment methods for both course work and final examinations,” Prof. Muhwezi said.

Prof. Muhwezi said that students will be trained on how to use the MUBS e-learning platform which will be used in the online assessment, starting Wednesday this week.

MUBs now join their counterparts at Makerere University as some of the fee higher institutions of learning that have so far re-opened online to complete a semester that was halted prematurely.

Schools across the country remain closed since June 18, 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic with no clarity on when they will be allowed to operate.

On Monday, Education Minister Janet Museveni said in a letter that the closure of the schools is intended to protect the country’s population and not to punish learners.

The minister urged learners above 18 and teachers to get vaccinated as they continue to wait on God, who will ‘not fail’ the country’s education system.
