Nankabirwa to represent Church of Uganda in cabinet

The Church of Uganda has appointed the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Nankabirwa as its representative in the cabinet, The Nile Post has learnt.

In the letter dated August 11 2021, the Archbishop Dr. Stephen Kaziimba appreciated the minister for her great services to the church of Uganda and the nation at large.

"I congratulate you for your new appointment as Minister of Energy and Mineral Development. Following our earlier discussion on the above subject {the appointment}, I am glad to officially inform you that you have been appointed to represent the church of Uganda in the cabinet of Uganda," the letter signed by the Archbishop partly read.

Kaziimba explained in the letter that they have full trust in Nankabirwa’s work and in all matters and business of the church therefore she is the right person to represent the church in such a position.

"I do hope that you will accept the appointment to enable us to do the work of God and with the government of Uganda in general. The appointment took effect on August 8 2021.May the Lord guide, direct and enable you to serve in the capacity to his glory," the letter further read.

The letter was copied to the Dean of the Province, Provincial Secretary and the Treasurer.
