Buganda princess arrested over impersonation, land grabbing

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit headed by Col Edith Nakalema in collaboration with the police have apprehended and detained one Princess Nalinya Bwanga for allegedly impersonating its staff.

According to the Unit, Bwanga was briefly detained at Kikyusa Police station in Luwero district before being transferred to Kampala Central Police Station for further questioning.

Her arrest followed allegations of land grabbing, tormenting, and causing arrest of wanainchi who happen to own the land in question.

Nakalema said that they have nabbed some officials in Hoima district for hiring out road equipment to a private developer.

"These officials brazenly hired out government road works’ equipment to a private farmer in Kaduuhi village, Kiryandongo district. This is contrary to government regulations. Collective efforts will yield success in fighting graft," she said.

The equipment is currently held at Kaduku Police station, Kiryandongo district
