Education

A total of 418 students are set to graduate in various disciplines as the Uganda Christian Institute for Professional Development [UCIPD] in Lira holds its fourth graduation ceremony on Friday, December,6.

“They will be graduating and awarded certificates and diplomas in Agriculture, Information and Communication Technology [ICT], Procurement and Logistics Management, Medical Records, Business, among other courses,” said Bonny Ferdinand Okello Alele, the institute's communications director.

He added that of the 418, 202 will be females.

Alele noted that the institute’s aim is to strengthen agriculture in the region by passing out graduates who can offer extensive services in the sector.

“I challenge our graduates  to look at the transformation of Uganda with the skills and knowledge acquired from UCI; go fight corruption and keep off from the ‘get rich quick’; life is a journey but it is the best journey if you are honest in serving your country with clean hand and heart,”Alele said.

“As a region, we have to contribute to the food basket of the country to gain economic status like Vision 2020,” he added.

Prof. Edward Komakech , the Dean Faculty of Health Sciences at Lira University will be the chief guest at the graduation ceremony on Friday in Lira.
