The National Resistance Movement (NRM) communications officer Rogers Mulindwa has said that the appointment of Jennifer Nakanguubi alias Full Figure, Catherine Kusasira and Mark Bugembe also known as Buchaman as presidential advisors in Kampala will attract a new crowd for the NRM.
Since the appointments by President Museveni early last month, many political commentators and analysts said that the move might not yield any results with many expressing reservations about the potentials of the Full Figure and Kusasira.
But Mulindwa, while appearing on the NBS TV Sunday evening talk show dubbed NBS Eagle, said that he has confidence that the three will tap into a new crowd for the NRM.
Mulindwa said the NRM will have to solve conflicts within the party in order to win over Kampala.
“I told our members that we don’t lose in Kampala because we don’t have support here, no, it’s because of the conflicts in the NRM. Full Figure will bring for us a new crowd. If you saw what happened at Katwe, locals came to listen to her. She has her own audience and this is why she was appointed. The package of Full Figure, Kusasira, Big Eye and Buchaman will definitely attract a new crowd for us,” Mulindwa said in part.
“What we have to do is to consolidate the 61 percent that we already have. We have to keep hold of those as these new advisors give us new people,” he added.
