UPL: URA fail to collect mandatory taxes off Vipers at Kitende

Table leaders  Vipers Sports Club on Tuesday evening ended the tax collectors URA FC dominance when they beat them one-nil in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the St.Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

Coming into the game, the tax collectors had won 12 times and lost only five in fixtures involving both teams and they hoped they break the Vipers unbeaten streak but this was not possible.

Sam Ssimbwa’s men created a number of goal scoring chances but all of them went begging to ensure the game ended goalless at half time.

In the second half, it was more the same at the St.Mary’s stadium but a 62nd-minute substitution that saw Innocent Wafula come in for captain Abraham Ndugwa bore fruits for the home side.

Shortly after coming onto the pitch, Wafula’s pass was capitalized on by Dan ‘Muzeeyi’ Sserunkuuma who made no mistake but tap into the net for the opener and only goal of the day at Kitende to throw fans into frenzy.

The final whistle saw Vipers remain unbeaten and extended lead at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with 33 points whereas URA remained 10th on 14 points.

Wakiso Giants beat Kyetume

At Bombo, Wakiso Giants scored three times to annihilate fellow newcomers Kyetume FC in another StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter.

Amos Muwonge, Karim Ndugwa and Viane Ssekajugo were all on target on Tuesday evening as the Purple Sharks slaughtered the Mukono based side nicknamed the Slaughters.

The win ensured Wakiso Giants moved to 5th position on 19 points whereas Kyetume remain 9th on 16 points after 14 games.
