Vipers SC v URA FC

Table leaders Vipers Sport Club’s unbeaten run will be on the line as they host tax collectors URA FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Tuesday afternoon at the St.Mary’s stadium.

Despite being nine positions before them ahead of the game, Sam Ssimbwa’s boys will count much on  the team’s record against Vipers SC that indicates that URA is the only team in the league that has beaten the Kitende side the most(12 times).

In the league, URA has beaten Vipers 12 times and have lost only five times against the same opponent and the Tuesday game is one to watch out for considering the current developments in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Vipers are the only unbeaten team in the league this season and are on the summit of the 16 team log whereas URA FC, who are 10th have lost twice.

Since the 1-0 win in 2017 enroute to the title triumph, Vipers have not seen a win against the taxmen including the previous two meetings and this seems to be the right time for Edward Golola to take revenge.

“We face them at the right time and I am confident we can make this happen,”Golola told the Vipers official website.

“We are in the final bend of the first round and it is also the most important part of our year, so this game will not be like any other for us. We have to win it to stay focused.”

For URA FC coach, Sam Ssimbwa, the current form of the five-game winning streak will be another boost that will see them triumph against Vipers at the St.Mary’s stadium on Tuesday.

Team news

Vipers will miss the services of on-form striker Fahad Bayo who travelled with the Cranes team to Burkina Faso and they hope to rely on services of Dan ‘Muzeeyi’ Sserunkuuma to poach for goals.

The venoms will also be without skipper Halid Lwaliwa who is away on national duty.

For URA FC will rely greatly on the services of Shafic Kagimu who on several occasions have done the job well for them against Vipers, including the previous time both team faced off.
