Rev.Bukomeko replaces Kaziimba as Mityana Bishop

The House of Bishops of the Church of Uganda sitting at Namirembe Guest House has elected Rev Dr James Bukomeko as Mityana Diocese Bishop to succeed Rt Rev Dr Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu.

Rev.Dr. Kaziimba Mugalu who was in charge of Mityana was recently elected the 9th Archbishop of the Church of Uganda.

On Thursday, the House of Bishops elected Bukomeko as the 5th Bishop for Mityana Diocese.

Rev. Bukomeko was born on November, 1, 1968 in Luwero and is the youngest in the family of 12 children.

He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Uganda Christian University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Uganda Management Institute, a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma in Education from Nkumba University.

He also has an Executive Certificate from Hertfordshire University.

Bukomeko also has an honorary doctorate from the London Bridge Business School.

Rev. Bukomeko was ordained a deacon and a priest in 1994 and has served in various capacities in Namirembe Diocese, including parish priest and Assistant Vicar.

He is married to married Rose Kokomeko and the family has five children including a set of twin girls.

Rev.Dr. Bukomeko will be consecrated and enthroned as the new Mityana Bishop on February 2 2020 at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Mityana.
