UPL: Wakiso Giants part ways with coach Kisala after suffering heaviest defeat ever

New league entrants, Wakiso Giants have confirmed the sacking of their coach, Kefa Kisala , only days after they were beaten badly in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The Purple Sharks faced reality on Saturday at their own fortress when they were beaten three-nil by struggling Express FC to ensure the moneybags suffered their heaviest defeat since joining the FUFA Big League.

In a statement released by their CEO Sula Kamoga, the Wakiso based club has parted ways with the coach who was formerly at Express FC.

“The club and coach Kefa Kisala have mutually agreed to terminate the employment contract. The reasons for termination remain confidential but are for the benefit of either party,”Kamoga said in the statement.

Without stating the reasons for the termination of his contract, the club applauded Kisala for the services he offered to the team that saw him form an integral part in their history, before wishing him the best in his new journey.

“In the meantime, the club has appointed former player Steven Bengo as caretaker coach as club prepares to announce the new chapter and new head coach. The future represents very exciting times for The Purple Sharks and we remain dedicated to our big plans and aspirations.”

Kisala’s sacking comes barely six months after taking over the job as the gaffer at Wakiso Giants in July.

He has been in charge of the team for just 11 games in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League where he has won four, lost six and drawn once.

The loss against Express FC was the last nail in his coffin.
