Women should not be left out of the liberation of this country- Bobi Wine

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has said women are an essential part of the liberation struggle.

He made the remarks while meeting women in the People Power Movement on Wednesday.

Bobi Wine said women should be put in the liberation struggle and never should they be mere spectators about the destiny of Uganda.

"A liberation movement like ours must ensure that women take part in every decision and process of the liberation struggle. That is how you guarantee true women empowerment when the struggle is won. We are very deliberate about this!,"he said.

He urged politicians and all the leaders in the country never to underestimate the power of women when it comes to the cause of change in Uganda.

“Never again should women be reduced to beasts of burden. Never again should politicians take advantage of women and turn them into mere voting machines,”he said.

He said women must have place on the high table and their voice must be heard loud and clear because when a woman is empowered, the world is empowered.

"Any of us who has met an empowered woman can attest to how much they can achieve with excellence .I look forward to seeing many more women taking lead we must leave no one behind," he said.

He applauded the work being done by the incredible women in people power Movement in a bid to see that President Museveni is dislodged from power come 2021.
