Bayo downs the eagles, Tuesday matches still stand

Fahad Bayo netted twice and assisted Brian Kalumba for Vipers Sports Club 3-0 win against Express FC at the St. Mary’s Stadium – Kitende.

Bayo’s first goal on the day came in the 8th minute when he lashed onto a Paul Willa over the top ball to calmly finish. The second came in the 78th minute before helping Brian Kalumba score the third.

Express FC, who had won their previous two outings with a combined six goals made a fight for it but could not get onto the score sheet till the end of the game.

Vipers remain unbeaten in the seven games they have played so far with five wins and two draws, a feat that leaves them in second place on the table, a game less and two points off leaders BUL FC.

Express FC on the other hand slipped to eleventh in their nine games with a minus four goal difference.

Fahad Bayo extended his lead as the league’s top scorer, now at six goals in the seven games he has played.

In the other games played in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League;

Nine-man Busoga United beat Police FC 2-1 at the Mighty Arena in Jinja. Boban Zirintusa and Debbo Julius were on target for the home side while Samson Kigozi Andrew scored the consolation for Police FC.

Busoga Utd FC ended the game with 9 players after two players were sent off - Isma Kawawulo and Umar Mukobe.

At Wankulukuku, Bright Stars were condemned Bright Stars to a fourth defeat nine games by Kyetume FC while both Maroons vs Villa and URA FC vs Mbarara City did not record any scores.

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League continues tomorrow with one game as Wakiso Giants host Proline FC at Wankulukuku.

The latest from the Uganda Premier League secretariat reveals that matches between Police FC and Proline FC and KCCA FC and Kyetume FC stand pending selection of three or more players from any of the teams involved in the said matches.

“…the Secretariat reminds the 4 Clubs (Police FC, Proline FC) & (KCCA FC, Kyetume FC), and all football stakeholders that; the SUPL fixtures still stand as per Schedule pending selection of 3 (or more) players from the mentioned club for National Duty to partake in the CHAN Qualifiers.”
