BUL vs KCCA: Tough call for Kasasiro boys

UPL: BUL vs KCCFC

Njeru Technical Centre

4PM

It will be a time of no mistakes as oil makers BUL host defending champions KCCA FC in a game that will be televised live on Sanyuka TV starting at 4pm in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Tuesday evening at the Njeru Technical Centre.

The visitors will be seeking for redemption after a dismal display in the past couple of weeks that started with their early exit from the Caf Champions League and they missed out on the money bracket.

Since then, KCCA FC has collected only one out of the possible six points in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference on Monday, KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi admitted he will face tough resistance from BUL but said he will bank on his boys to finish the job in Njeru.

“Teams always compete and up their game when they face us, and BUL has in fact been causing us upsets and giving us a hard time whenever we meet. We shall try to lift ourselves to get a win,”Mutebi said.

“Games against them have always been hard but we shall try our best to negotiate the tie. I think the team is playing well but all that is lacking is putting the ball in the back of the net. We shall continue to work on that with the players.”

Mutebi will again rely on his youngsters including Allan Okello, Anaku Sadat and Steven Sserwadda to carry the team on their shoulders in these trying moments against an on-form team in BUL.

The hosts will be seeking to continue with the form that has seen them win three of their last five games in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and lifted them to second position on 13points, against KCCA FC’s seven in 10th position.

 Head to head

If the past is to go by, KCCA FC will have an upper hand against BUL when the two teams meet today.

In the last 10 meetings between the two clubs, KCCA FC has only lost twice to BUL but has won seven of these games.

In the 2015/16 season, BUL completed a double against KCCA FC and it is the only year the team has beaten KCCA FC in the last five seasons.
