Muntu: "ANT is not in a rush to remove Museveni"

The National Coordinator of the Alliance for National Transformation Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu has said that ANT is not in a rush to get rid of NRM.

Appearing on a local television show, he said the party is busy focusing on building good party structures so that it can gain momentum to oust Present Museveni from power.

He said all criticism directed towards the party cannot affect it in anyway and it can never stop them from pursuing their goals.

“Anybody who criticises us, we have no problem. We believe that what we are doing is the correct path that we have chosen and we know that the outcomes will be self evident down the road that’s why we don’t sweat,” he said.

He stated that they are well convinced about their set goals and objectives and nothing else is going to divert them.

He explained that one of the issues why he departed ways with Forum for Democratic Change is the issue of the methods of doing work.

“So now we don’t have any more contention. There is no reason for conflict. People are now comfortable, at least I can speak for Alliance, we are comfortable with what we are doing,” he said.

He however noted that ANT is committed to work with different forces of opposition in a bid to dislodge President Museveni.

“We meet amongst ourselves. We have been meeting with Hon Bobi Wine and a team of People Power leaders. We have been meeting with chairman Mao (DP), we have been meeting with Hon [Asuman] Basalirwa (JEEMA),”he stated.

He said the aim of interaction is to build the bridges of trust amongst their different political transformation.

He noted that ANT believes in having anybody who will come out as flag bearer.

“In the process of building relationship with other organisations, we should have established the levels of trust where we will have a mechanism in determining who holds the flag for the all coalition,”he said.

He stressed that the party does not need anything which can divert and remove its focus on the things which are necessary to build the capability to oust the regime
