Over two months ago, two men were arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo and charged with impersonation and soliciting for bribes passing as detectives of the State House Anti-Corruption unit.

Prosecution at the Kololo based court alleged that Kassim Lasibo and Mubarak Bulo in May 2019 attempted to obtain a bribe of Shs1.39 million from the headteacher of Victoria Nile Primary School in Jinja after threating that they were investigating her.

Earlier, another group of imposters including UPDF soldiers were arrested and arraigned before the division court-martial in Jinja for posing as employees of the State House Anti-Corruption.

President Museveni last year launched a new unit based in State House to crack the whip on corruption and appointed Lt. Col.Edith Nakalema to head it.

The unit has made tremendous strides by arresting a number of government officials in various parts of the country involved in misusing government funds.

However, because of being feared by many, a number of imposters have come up to disguising as employees of the State House Anti- Corruption and fleeced a number of officials of huge sums of money threatening to arrest them.
