Micho accused of sexual harassment prior to his resignation at Orlando Pirates

South African media is awash with information indicating that former Uganda Cranes coach, Limutin Sredjovic Micho was involved in a sex scandal that could have ignited his resignation from Orlando Pirates as head coach.

On Friday evening, Micho announced his resignation from the Orlando Pirates job with immediate effect.

However, several South African news outlets later said that the Serbian tactician had been involved in a sexual harassment scandal that could have fuelled his resignation.

“Amid speculation as to why outgoing Orlando Pirates coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic resigned from his position, a story in Sunday World reports that a hotel cleaner opened a case against him ten days ago for allegedly committing a “sexual offence,” the Citizen wrote on Sunday.

They added that the former Orlando Pirates coach faces charges of indecent exposure and they quoted the police spokesperson Kay Makhubela

“The incident occurred in the disabled toilets at a hotel the day before woman’s day, a police source told the publication. Police documents show that it is alleged Micho approached a 51-year-old cleaner at roughly 6am, asking for sex and attempting to undress, at which point the complainant screamed and ran away,” the Citizen wrote.

Other news outlets including the Sport24 and the South African all reported of the same sexual harassment claims against the Serbian wolf.

Micho denies

However, the Serbian tactician who had been rumoured to have been appointed the new Zamalek coach denied the reports as bogus.

“This seems to be the South African way of thanking me for my time at Orlando Pirates,”Micho said.

He noted that it was being unfair to him as he went through a tough time as his mother was bedridden with a terrible sickness.

“I deny the allegations. This is unfair to me when I face a  challenge of a bedridden mother at home. I am discussing the publications with my lawyers. I will sue for defamation.”

Milutin Sredjovic Micho was appointed Orlando Pirates coach for a second stint in August 2017 after relinquishing his job as Uganda Cranes coach.

He restored glory at the team’s glory lifting them from the 11th position they had finished in the Absa Premiership the previous season to finish second behind eventual champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Micho however resigned on Friday citing personal reasons.
