Gen Mugisha wants women to take up national leadership

The National Coordinator for Alliance for National Transformation Maj Gen, Mugisha Muntu has expressed concern over the failure by women to take up national leadership positions in the country.

He however assured the local leaders that ANT party is set to handle and address such challenges in the country through training and empowering women in various fields.

He made the remarks while speaking at the regional consultative meeting with local leaders from Bunyoro sub region in Hoima Town.

He noted that there is need to set up organisations to create favourable internal environment where women are able to apply their skills, knowledge, and expertise in achieving  their goals and advancing their interest.

He explained to the leaders that skills women will get and develop through such initiatives will help to prepare and empower them to achieve their dream and goals of taking up national leadership.

"Alliance is on track because we are consistent and we are going to be consistent. The time is going to keep on revealing different interests in the society," he said.

He however noted that ANT is not in a rush but is very ready to help in supporting, imparting skills to serious people across the country.

“To advance interest whether it is workers, youth, women, whether people with disabilities, gradually and systematically they are going to realise seriousness of the Alliance, we have no fears on that," he noted.

He urged people in different parts of the region to keep on partnering with the Alliance for National Formation to ensure that strong structures are built.

Alliance for National Transformation is on its induction tour aiming at equipping and enabling sub regional leaders to be at the frontline of the party recruitment activities.
