Senior FDC official crosses to NRM

James Birungi Ozo, the FDC deputy secretary for international and regional affairs over the weekend officially corssed to the NRM.

Ozo, who has been the coordinator of Peoples Government in Tooro region and FDC district chairman Kamwenge crossed with more than 50 party supporters.

He was received by the minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Maj Gen Kahinda Otafiire who welcomed him into the NRM fold.

Otafiire urged NRM supporters to give Ozo and other defectors all the held they need saying they should not look at them as a threat.

Ozo said he defected from the FDC following pressure from his supporters in Kamwenge.

"The people of Kamwenge are largely NRM supporters and they told me I will be isolated if I remain in FDC," he said.

Ozo has thrice competed against Frank Tumwebaze, the minister for ICT for the Kibaale County seat losing on all three occasions.

He said he will respect and promote NRM values.
