Tamale Mirundi; Bobi Wine joining Besigye will be the last curse on him

Former press secretary, Tamale Mirundi has criticized the ongoing talks between opposition strongholds, Former presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye and Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

Mirundi has called this a miscalculation on Bobi Wine’s side, noting that it will be his last curse if the two make a partnership.

Yesterday, Tuesday, July 16, Forum for Democratic Party (FDC) chairperson Wasswa Birigwa while addressing the press at the party headquarters in Najjanakumbi said that Besigye and Bobi Wine are in the final stages of formulating a partnership and common strategy ahead of the 2021 general elections.

Now while speaking on his weekly one-man show dubbed “One on One with Tamale Mirundi’’ that airs every Tuesday on NBS Television, Mirundi said that if Bobi Wine joins hands with Besigye, he is likely to lose all the 35% of the population which is seeking change.

“35% of the population is seeking for a change of government and this is currently rallying behind Bobi Wine but if he joins hands with Besigye, he will lose them. Besigye has a curse that has not enabled him to win the election,” Mirundi asserted.

“First ask yourself why Besigye has failed to win the election. He announced that he will not be contesting again then what is he still looking for? People can’t be fooled twice and if Bobi Wine adds himself in that mess, we shall just clap for him. That is what we wanted,’’

“I told Semwogerere in 1996, because I was his advisor by then, that the UPC he had joined hands with had spoilt all our efforts and that is what happened. If Bobi comes alone with his people power movement, he stands a chance but if he collaborates with Besigye, he has already failed before 2021,” Mirundi added.

FDC said that they will soon be announcing their resolutions to the public confirming that they will work together to defeat the NRM government in the upcoming election.

FDC Chairperson also said that as a party, they have not participated in these talks, Besigye is doing that on their behalf.

Nile Post has since established that some of the resolutions from their talks will include fronting one candidate to run against Museveni who is expected to run again in the 2021 election.
