MPs angered by government's failure to generate business

A number of legislators are concerned with the abrupt postponement of the Parliamentary sittings until next week after information emerged that government has not generated business for Parliament to transact.

The fire spitting legislators told The Nile Post that government’s failure to present business for the House to transact is not only likely to affect the performance of the 10th Parliament but will also affect the tax payer.

According to the Parliamentary schedule, all committees and sittings of parliament are conducted between Tuesday and Thursday of every week with the rest of the days left for legislators to attend to the constituency demands.

But to the surprise of many legislators who came to the August House yesterday ready to for business, they leant with shock that the sittings had been postponed to the 9th of July 2019.

This was because government has failed to present business for parliament to transact.

Some MPs questioned whether there was a hidden agenda in government's failure to present business to the House.

Some of them called upon the government to present the long awaited electoral reforms once parliament resumes from this recess.
