Museveni: "Nakalema's unit watches over the IGG"

Featured

President Museveni today took a swipe at the Inspectorate of Government for not doing enough to fight corruption.

Speaking during the opening of the 9th Commonwealth Regional Conference of the heads of the anti corruption agencies at Serena Hotel, Kigo, Museveni said corruption had the capacity to undermine all the economic development.

He said because of the inefficiency of the IG, he had to create other units to fight graft.

"When people start complaining of a watchman, then u have to hire a watchman to watch over that watchman. That is why I started and set up units in Presidents Office to watch over the IGG," Museveni said.

He gave example of units like health, engineering, land  and Anti-Corruption.

Museveni then recognised Lt Col Edith Nakalema, the head of the Anti-Corruption Unit for a job well done so far.
