Queen Nagginda: Keep politics out of the health sector, support our doctors

The Nnabagereka of Buganda Sylvia Nagginda Luswata has asked responsible authorities to keep politics out of the health sector. She says Uganda has good doctors but they are not supported to perform to their best.

She adds that Ugandan doctors only need proper training, necessary equipment for improved health care.

This was during the funeral service for her late Father John Mulumba Luswata at Namirembe Cathedral.

Nnababagereka says the country still has a challenge where good Doctors move to different countries for greener pastures.

John Mulumba Luswata, the father to the Nnabagereka, succumbed to heart failure last week. He is survived by six children including the Queen of Buganda Lady Sylvia Nagginda Luswata. He was born on 22 November 1938.

During the service Right Reverend Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira reminded parents of their responsibilities to their children.

Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga also emphasized the need for proper upbringing of children, praising the late John Luswata for doing such a good job that the Kabaka chose a wife from his family.

The service was graced by dignitaries from both Mengo and the central government, members of parliament and retired Buganda premiers among others.

Burial is tomorrow at his ancestral home in Nkumba, Wakiso district.
