Singer Young Mulo vows to beat Jose Chameleone to Lord Mayor seat

Former Leone Island Singer Kasimu Lubega alias Young Mulo has vowed to beat his former boss and fellow singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone to the Kampala Lord Mayor seat.

A few days ago, Chameleone made the announcement he would be running for the Kampala Lord Mayor seat. The singer was addressing journalists at DNA Lounge on Monday when he said; “I have all it takes to become Kampala Mayor.”

“I have been a leader all my life and it won’t be a challenge for me to lead the people of Kampala if they want me to lead them as their Lord Mayor. I have all it takes to become Kampala Mayor in the next elections and put Kampala city to its standards,” he added.

However, Chameleone’s bubble has already been burst, with another singer now showing interest in the position. The singer is none other than his protégé, Young Mulo.

According to Young Mulo, he is the only candidate capable of taking Kampala to the next level.

“If Kato Lubwama, a comedian is in parliament and was voted by the people, then what about me who has a whole lot of support from youth who see me as their best representative?” Mulo claimed.

The singer said among things he intends to deal with include; Corruption among other things. He says his slogan is ‘twebereremu”.

Young Mulo and Chameleone are the other artistes that have expressed interest in political ambitions.

Luga Flow Singer Derrick Katongole, alias Victor Kamenyo last month declared intention to vie for the Rubaga North Parliamentary seat which is currently held by Moses Kasibante.

“I believe I have many ideas than Kasibante. If someone is playing chess, those watching know where he should be making his move. I have been watching and seeing him (Kasibante) misplacing moves. So he should come out and I sit,” Kamenyo said.

Just recently, Bobi Wine’s brother Mikie Wine declared he would view for the Kyadondo East parliamentary seat.

“I have been a leader all a long, I was a prefect in my school days so this is not new and it wont be new. You can’t fight change; I want to move on with change. I like being a leader so I inspire and guide my people,” Mikie Wine said.

Mikie Wine is however not deviating from his elder brother’s script, fronting issues like safe delivery for mothers, and misuse of tax payers’ money as front of his battle agenda.

“I am not doing this because of Bobi Wine or Eddie Yawe, but this is a calling,” he added.
