URA FC’s Sam Ssimbwa dedicates coach of March award to ailing mother in Butabika

URA FC head coach Sam Ssimbwa has been awarded as the best coach in the Startimes Uganda Premier league for the month of March following his team’s tremendous performance last month.

Ssimbwa who joined URA Fc at the beginning of the season has edged KCCAFC tactician Mike Mutebi and Tooro United’s Wasswa Bbosa who won the previous award.

Upon receipt of his plaque, that comes along with a cash prize of one million Uganda shillings, the tactician went emotional in his speech as he revealed how the love of his life, his mother Milly Nanteza Nakibinge, can no longer identify or relate with him, because of a mental problem that has left her confined in Butabika hospital.

“I dedicate my award to my mum Milly Nanteza Nakibinge. She’s everything to me and it was heart breaking for me to take her to Butabika to be admitted because she had lost her mind. I wanted to see her get better I had to make the decision because it was heartbreaking had tried everything. No one ever wants to go through the experience of driving their mum to Butabika hospital. My mum was my first inspiration when I started playing football. But by God’s Grace I know she will once again be okay because she is my mum, I love her so much," he said.

Ssimbwa’s taxmen never lost a game in March, winning two (2-0 away to Paidha and 1-0 against Express at Namboole) and drawing the other against BUL FC, as they leapfrogged Mbarara city for third place on the pile with 43 points in 25 games played so far.

They have managed to win 10 of their games, drawn 13 and only lost twice letting in only 11 goals, the least in the top division this season as they keep their hopes for a top three finish alive.

The tax collectors’ next game will be against Bright Stars on Wednesday the 10/04/2019.

In the other category, Kirinya Jinja SS’s attacking midfielder David Bagoole was named the best player of the same month beating KCCA FC’s industrious midfielder Nicolas Kasozi and URA FC Forward Cromwell Rwothomio.
