Zaga a doubt, Kagimu set for late fitness test, as URA FC hosts Express

URA will be seeking to end their unflattering jinx against Express FC when the two teams face off at Namboole on Tuesday in a game to be televised live on Sanyuka TV.

The tax collectors’ last triumph over the Red Eagles came on May 19, 2015 but the game on Tuesday presents a good opportunity to end the run.

The four-time league winners haven’t beaten the six time champions in the past seven meetings, losing twice and drawing the rest.

Ssimbwa’s side, fourth on the 16-team log with 39 points, are one of the on form sides in the division with three wins in the past four games.

With Cromwell Rothomwo, Shafik Kagimu and Peter Lwasa firing on all cylinders, the tax men have a chance to bring down the Eagles who are enjoying a stop start campaign so far.

George Ssimwogerere’s side lie 11th on the log with 29 points and won just two of their last ten league games.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 1-1 draw with the visitors scoring a late penalty.

Ssimwogerere will be without striker Eric Kambale whose hamstring injury aggravated while on-loan midfielder Frank Zaga Tumwesigye is doubtful and will wait for a late fitness test.

Sam Ssimbwa comes into this game without a recognized central defender. Allan Mugalu has been ruled out for the rest of the season, while Benjamin Nyakojo is still nursing the injury he sustained in Paidha.

Paul Patrick Mboowa is suspended after accumulating three yellow cards.

Skipper Shafik Kagimu is also doubtful to feature and will wait for a late confirmation.

Cromwell Rwothomio, Peter Lwasa and Moses Seruyidde will be expected to lift Ssimbwa’s charges should Kagimu fail to pass the late fitness test.

Striker Brian Umony, goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga and pony-tailed defender Johnny Revita will be the players to look up to for the Red Eagles.

Victory can take URA to the third place dislodging Mbarara City whereas Express can move to the ninth position should they snatch three points from Namboole.

In the other game today, Tooro United will start life at their new home ground in Wankulukuku against fifth placed Bul FC.

Tooro were forced to relocate to their third home venue this season to allow government start renovation of the Buhinga stadium.

They have formerly hosted games at Kavumba before shifting to the Western district, where they turned the Buhinga stadium into a fortress with nine wins and 4 draws in their 13 games.

Coach Wasswa Bossa will be hoping to carry the same form to the Mutesa II stadium.

Luckily for Bbosa, there are no injury concerns in his camp, while Peter Onen’s visitors will have to cope without two of their players, Deogratious Ojok and James Otim who were reportedly involved in a motor accident that will keep them out for the reminder of the season.

Bul FC is fifth on the pile with 36 points after their draw with URA in the last fixture while Tooro united are three points and two places shy of BUL.

The first round meeting in Jinja ended in a 1-0 victory for Tooro United, a goal scored by the lethal Allan Kayiwa.
