Use 2019 to finally change your life, dear woman

I know I am not the only one trying to take 2019 by the horns and make it mine. If there was an over sang song last year it was “2018 was hard.” If it was not money, it was job opportunities and if it was not that then something with family. Hardship after hardship was what followed 2018 and we are looking for testimonies this year because they were tired of not having any.

The January blues are over and February recovery has come to an end, it is time to put in that work to see those plans come to life. I am part of the clique that thinks wishing and praying on my plans will bring them to life but luck is not a thing so as I urge you to take that step. I am doing the same for me. That weight loss goal, business plan, job application or promotion will not snap itself to life.

Take the risk. No matter how hard it is, the worst thing that could possibly happen is that you fail and even after that you can try again. Nothing comes easy and nothing is guaranteed but from past experiences, regret is definitely the hardest feeling to deal with.

“You are only getting older.” I hope you are feeling attacked, one of the things that delays us is that we think we always have time but tick tock before you know it all that time would have been lost and imagine how farther ahead you would be if you started now.

Own your space, for those hitting the promotion wish list or wanting to grow bigger wherever they are at the moment. It is important for you to understand that you are in that space for a reason. A lot of the time we feel grateful and do not want to push buttons or that it is enough. You need to evolve and grow even in that space because you are not a place holder and should not treat yourself like one.

My last ask of you for this women’s month and lent season for the religious, let go of fear. The biggest hold back of anyone’s greatest potential is fear, not knowing what will happen. Let this be seen as a plus that at least things are happening. If you do not take that step, you won’t know what will work for you or what won’t. Also, we need more women doing things and taking up spaces so for the collective effort, do this for us.

Happy Women’s Day!
