Tactician Isabirye returns to Nyamityobora Football Club

It is official! Alex ‘Trezguet’ Musongola Isabirye has dumped FUFA big league out fit Kyetume FC for top tier side Nyamityobora.

The former Uganda Cranes international resigned his job at Kyetume moments after guiding them to the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarter finals, following a 1-0 away win over Kitara at Kigaya on Sunday.

Nyamityobora who last week lost head coach Asaph Mwebaze has now named Isabirye as the replacement.

Isabirye, though, comes in the capacity of technical director. He signed a three year employment contract

Restoring the sanity in the dressing room will be Isabirye’s primary task. He is expected to work alongside Juma Ssekiziyivu who has been the interim trainer since Mwebaze’s untimely departure.

Isabirye faces a stern test, given the worrying form of the Abanyakare, having managed just three wins in 19 matches with 3 draws and 13 losses registered.

Isabirye returns to a club that he once served in the FUFA Big League before he left prematurely for Soana (now Tooro United).

To earn the job, Isabirye beat off stiff competition from Muhammed Kisekka (formerly at Paidha Black Angels), Jackson Mayanja and Kefa Kisala.

Isabirye said, “I understand the dynamics of the modern game. It has been a hard decision to leave Kyetume but I am ready for fresh challenges everyday. I am ready to serve Nyamityobora and happy to return to a club I call home.”

The immediate task at hand is that away duel against Paidha Black Angels on Thursday at the Bar Okoro Stadium in Zombo.

But, before the game, Isabirye will have a scrutiny of the players when Nyamityobora takes on Luweero United this Tuesday in a trial match.
