Bishop concerned about rot in political class

Ambrose Muhumuza

The Archbishop of Mbarara His Grace Paul Bakyenga has expressed concern over the rot in the political class prophesying that the 2021elections will bring in the worst politicians.

The prelate, speaking during a confirmation ceremony at Uganda Martyrs Parish in Mbarara, cautioned the voters to learn from the current crop of politicians who have betrayed them and elect better people in 2021.

Otherwise, he predicted that the next elections could produce worse politicians.

Bakyenga said that few of the 2016 elected leaders have fulfilled their promises.

He had no kind words for those who are calling for Mbarara municipality to be elevated to a city.

He asked Parliament not to rush while making such a decision.
