As the 2021 elections draw closer, the political temperature is getting hotter.

The youths have become a key interest group for politicians, trying to win over their hearts and votes.

And the minister of State for Finance, David Bahati has warned them to desist from making mistakes through political influence and not to be blinded by unsustainable and unreliable groups.

Bahati was speaking at the 33 NRM anniversary celebrations in Ndorwa West Kabale district on January 26.

Specifically, he told them to shun the People Power group, headed by Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

"People Power is a minority in Kabale and if you choose to join them, you will be choosing a short term strategy," he said.

He said that while it is not the time for campaigns, it is the time to prepare the ground for the 2021 general elections and check their capacity as the NRM.

He told the youth that the NRM had created a number of avenues for them to prosper including income generating projects like Operation Wealth Creation.

"Do not be diverted by self-seekers," he told them.
