Kadaga and LOP meet over COSASE impasse

Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga on Tuesday held a closed door meeting with the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Aol Betty Ochan over leadership wrangles in the Committee of Commissions Statutory Authority and State Enterprises. (COSASE).

Ever since the changes were made by leader of opposition to effect transfer of instruments of power from Abdu Katuntu Bugweri legislator to Mubarak Munyagwa Kawempe south, the COSASE committee has turned into a battle ground with Leader of opposition Betty Ochan leading the frontline for Munyagwa to take charge.

In December last year, speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga told plenary session that she had written to Leader of opposition in parliament requesting for the extension of the Katuntu led committee to finish the investigation of the BOU probe because it had reached critical stage a request which was turned down by the leader of opposition.

Since then, the two have been at loggerheads using both media to counter each other in public and most likely, they may have come to a conclusion but all this will be communicated in today' hotly anticipated sitting which will be chaired by speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
