Sydney is officially in 2019!

Sydney in Australia entered 2019 as thousands celebrated by watching the city’s stunning firework show.

Each New Year, Sydney is hailed as one of the best firework displays in the world, as the Sydney harbour bridge sets the stunning backdrop.

Given its vastness, different parts of Australia will enter the new year at different times - with Sydney entering the a new year exactly 12 hours before the UK.

The dramatic firework display in Sydney took up the entire skyline and even saw fireworks set off from boats anchored in the middle of the bay.

The city has already seen one spectacular firework display as the city hosted a special children’s firework show in the harbour.

The incredible display launched at around 9pm Australia time, before the main event kicked off at midnight.
